OK, I can't seem to figure out how to get my cell phone video 3gp into a format I can watch or upload ... anyone out there have any ideas? And please, friendly techies, keep the alphabet soup simple for me.

I have no idea. I hate all those features on cell phones, and don't really know how to use any of them. Personally, I find them impossibly unintuitive and unnecessary.

I don't have a clue either. I can't even figure out how to download pictures from my phone to my computer.

i know if your phone has an SD card slot, you can save photos and videos to the card and transfer them to your computer in that way. verizon has the PIXPlace feature, but from what ive seen that just allows you to upload stuff to their website and use it to send messages from there instead of from your phone. ive been able to email myself pictures from my phone in the manner of a regular picture message sent to my email instead of a cell #, but with verizon it seems that the quicktime video format is locked unless you have the quicktime pro software on your computer, which costs money and sucks my toe.

No such luck. I just got a digital camera, so I not too concerned and most of the pictures I have taken are not very important.

most phones also have a USB cable adapter that you plug into the charging port to transfer files, but those are ridiculously expensive.

I have a motorola RIZR. I managed to USB cable it to my desktop and upload it to youtube to watch, but I don't have any programs to watch it on my computer. both windowsplayer and quicktime say they cannot translate the extension. I can't email it to myself because I have a pay-as-you-go plan, which does not allow me to share pics and videos. I guess youtube is what I'll have to use from now on. Thanks, guys!

with windows media player you can usually download codecs to view different file extensions, although it's useless for some file types. you might try www.3gp.com and see if they have any players or plug-ins for quicktime or WMP.
